THANK YOU, EVERYONE -- You helped us exceed our goal!! You're awesome!!!
The above is a slide presentation of Brittany Residential, Inc. residents enjoying the activities available to them at their week-long summer camp in Shipshewana, Indiana. | Bonnie Schindler was a resident of Brittany Residential, Inc in northeast Ohio and truly enjoyed the annual camping trips to Camp Shipshewana in Indiana. When her father passed away, he had generously arranged to keep her love of summer camp alive for current and future residents of the Brittany Residential homes by creating the Bonnie Schindler Summer Camp Endowment Fund. This fund provides camper scholarships for residents in need so they, too, can experience the camp Bonnie loved so much. The fund also provides birthday and holiday gifts for residents. The Deepwood Foundation (the non-profit charitable arm of the Lake County, Ohio Board of MRDD whose mission is to advance public awareness and to assist individuals with developmental disabilities achieve their full potential) is the organization that oversees the fund and distributes the camper scholarships. With many charities, a donation is made and sent off and you are never certain exactly how it will be used. Kevin and Erin chose the Schindler Fund as their charity because they personally know many of the residents of Brittany Residential and will see, first hand, the benefits and enjoyment that will be a result of this endeavor. Every $350 raised by the Marauders will cover the room, board and activities expenses for one camper for a week, as well as a yearly birthday and holiday gifts. |
